Before this, Jessica grew up on a dairy farm in Mount Vernon, WA. Michael spent his childhood summers working on his grandparents dairy farm in Monroe, WA. We both were very involved in 4-H and showed Registered Holsteins. We met showing cows at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, WA, and that is how our story began. We got married in 2007 and moved to Eastern WA in 2009.
We always wanted our own dairy, and cheese making was not something either of us knew how to do. Jessica researched and figured out how to make cheese after 3 years of trial and error. Now we have been making cheese for our family for over 10 years.
We realized there was a need in our community for artisanal cheese, and so our journey of certification began. We became a certified creamery in July 2024.

All of our cheeses are made by hand, and in small batches. We do not pasteurize our milk that we use for cheese making, and because of this, the Non-Lactic Acid Bacteria that stays in the cheese as it ages gives it a superior flavor that is unique to our area.
We also age our cheeses for at least 60 days before selling. Our Cheddar is aged for at least 6 months and our Aged Gouda is aged for at least 4 months.
We wanted to create cheeses that our family loved, and now we want to share our cheese with our community.

Our farm is a farmstead dairy, which means we do all the milking and processing of our product on the farm. The cows are at the center of everything we do. We care for them every day of the year and pay particular attention to their health and nutrition. Our cows are pastured as long as the weather permits (typically March-November). We rotationally graze our cattle which improves soil health as well as helps plants to regrow between grazing periods. We also raise most of the hay our cows eat when they are not on pasture. Our registered Holsteins have a very low-stress life, which you will taste in the cheese!
All of our cheese is made from raw milk, but aged at least 60 days. We believe the raw milk cheese has a superior taste due to the natural bacteria found in the milk, which continues creating great flavors in the cheese as it ages.
While we don't have a physical store-front, our products are available for purchase through our website.
You can also find our cheese at select retail locations and through our trusted distributors.

Milbrandt Vineyards are concentrated in the Wahluke Slope (AVA established in 2006) and the Ancient Lakes of the Columbia Valley (AVA established in 2012 with the help of Butch and Jerry). The high elevation (up to 1,475ft) and shallow soils of the Columbia Valley make it an unassuming and distinctly beautiful place to grow grapes. Both growing areas share the same low rainfall and long sunny days during the growing season, yet each area has very distinct terroir. Wahluke Slope is especially ideal for red wines and Ancient Lakes for white wines. Butch and Jerry were careful about matching the right variety to the right site. Known as some of the best growers in the state, Butch and Jerry’s fruit is amongst the most sought after in Washington.
Sheridan Vineyard was formed in 1999, and each subsequent year has seen increased growth and expansion. Our wine selection has increased in both variety and quality.
The story of Sheridan Vineyard is found within the beauty and elegance of each bottle that we produce. It is written by the hands of our founder, vigneron, and winemaker, Scott Greer. We invite you to share a glass of Sheridan Vineyard wine and, in so doing, become a part of our story.
Whitman Hill Winery’s mission is to create highly sought-after wines from our estate grown vineyards that offer a luxurious everyday experience to share with family and friends. Striving for excellence in every aspect is a cornerstone of our ideology, and our commitment to value will never falter.
Whitman Hill Winery highlights a unique bond between our agricultural heritage and our inherent love of the land instilled through familial traditions and generational farming. We seek to preserve this legacy by continuing these traditions in the same spirit.
We make very small batch wines, keeping the clones separate from harvest through bottling so that the wine consumer can experience these same differences. Though the nuances are small, they are very discernable. By sourcing the grapes from our estate vineyards where we can control the growing conditions and terroir, we can then control for all winemaking variables.
